Lincoln-Way students named National Merit FinalistsPosted on: Monday, April 2, 2018In mid-January, Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 recognized 35 total students in a special ceremony for outstanding academic performance based on the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) requirements. Of the 35 students, 31 earned Commended status and four earned Semifinalist status. After celebrating their Semifinalist status in January, students Alexandria Krupske (Lincoln-Way West), Taylor Lenburg (Lincoln-Way Central), Lucas Nienhouse (Lincoln-Way East) and Karnap Patel (Lincoln-Way East), each submitted an application for Finalist status. Despite the competitiveness of the NMSC program, all four advanced as Finalists.
[Read More...]Lincoln-Way West students excel in 14-hour MathWorks Math Modeling ChallengePosted on: Tuesday, April 3, 2018From March 3 to March 4, 2018, ten Lincoln-Way West seniors competed in the annual MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge (M3C). The M3C is a national competition for high school juniors and seniors and is sponsored by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. Two teams of five students entered the competition in an effort to win the $100,000 scholarship. This year, 912 teams from around the country participated in the M3C competition.

[Read More...]District 210 Science Departments allow students to observe/interact with live autopsy Posted on: Monday, April 23, 2018On Tuesday, April 17, 2018, Knights and Griffins enrolled in Anatomy and Physiology classes and Forensic Science classes had the opportunity to view an autopsy via livestream. This is the second time District 210 students have participated in the event. Lincoln-Way East science teachers initially learned about the opportunity, called “Live from the Morgue,” in November of 2016 while attending the Northern Illinois Science Educators (NISE) conference. Last May, Griffins participated in the event; this year, they were joined by the Knights.
